Florida Women’s Tennis has a week of challenging matchups ahead and will be participating in a total of three different tournaments.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida tennis will continue fall play over the next week in several different tournaments. After closing out Regionals on their home courts, the Gators will head to their next assignments spanning from California to Oklahoma.
Emily De Oliviera secured the ITA Regional Singles championship title last weekend after five days of tournament play to grant her a spot in the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships. Nationals will take place at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California, and span from November 1-5. The Championships are the grand finale of the fall collegiate tennis season and feature 64 of the nation’s top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men’s teams and 32 women’s teams).
In Norman, Oklahoma, Qavia Lopez will be competing for Florida in an International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament. Lopez received a spot in the singles main draw which will begin on Tuesday, October 31. The Norman Open will be at the Oklahoma University Tennis Club with a main draw of 32.
To round out the upcoming week, Malwina Rowinska, Sarah Dahlstrom, Bente Spee, Carly Briggs, Sophie Williams, and Rachel Gailis will be competing at the Auburn Invite. The Alabama-based tournament will be at the Yarbrough Tennis Center and start on Friday, November 3. The collegiate tournament will feature a series of D1 tennis teams, with both a singles and doubles draw.
