UF WS&D: Auld, Bauer, Cronk Named to 2021 USA Swimming National Junior Team

One current Gator and two signees find spots on the USA’s roster
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s Elise Bauer and two Gator signees in Anna Auld and Micayla Cronk were named to the 2021 USA Swimming National Junior Team, USA Swimming announced over the weekend.

Bauer, a freshman from Ocala’s Forest High School, is a past member of the National Junior Team and a 2020 Olympic Trials Qualifier in the 800 and 1,000 free. Bauer is also the Florida Championship record holder in the 1,650 free and the 3A Florida State Championships runner-up in the 500 free.

The freshman also won the 1,650 free at the Auburn Fall Invitational back in November of 2020.

Auld, a native of West Palm Beach is also a past member of the National Junior Team and a three-time Scholastic All-American.

“I feel that the UF atmosphere is where I will be able to grow to be the best possible version of myself,” Auld said after signing with Florida.

Cronk is also a past member of the National Junior Team and an Olympic Trials Qualifier. A native of Palm Coast, Cronk is a Junior National Champion in the 200 free and a seven-time Florida State Champion.

“The University of Florida has everything from academic to athletic achievements that I would like to be a part of,” Cronk said after her signing. “Although both are ranked in the top 10 in the nation, it was the coaching, team positivity and the overall welcoming environment that has drawn me to this school.”

Auld, Bauer and Cronk give reason for Gators fans to be very excited about the future of the squad.

The women’s swimming and diving team is scheduled to host UNF on Jan. 20.
