After she graduated from Florida in 2017, she turned professional and became the first player from Puerto Rico to earn full membership on the LPGA Tour. The 2016 SEC Player of the Year, Torres’s pro career includes four career top-10 finishes.
This will mark the second straight Olympics that a former Gators has competed in, as Sandra Gal represented Germany in 2016. That same year, golf made its reappearance in the Olympics after a 112-year absence where it last appeared in the 1904 games in St. Louis.
Golf will have a very familiar look at the Olympics. It will be almost identical to the LPGA Tour, except for the fact there is no cut after the first two rounds, meaning all players will be in action all four days.
Kasumingaeski Country Club (Par 71/7,477 yards) will be the host of the event with round one starting on August 3 at 6:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed on NBCOlympics.com
