UF WGOLF | Gators Complete Round Two of SEC Championship

Three Gators are in the top-24 with Marina Escobar (T16), Maisie Filler (T21) and Inès Archer  (T24).

BELLEAIR, Fla. – The Florida women’s golf team completed round two of the SEC Championship on Saturday at Pelican Golf Club.

Through 36-holes the Gators (+24) are in 12th and will enter tomorrow six shots back of cracking the top-8 to secure a spot in match play. Florida tees off tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. paired with Missouri and Ole Miss.

Three Gators sit in the top-24 led by Marina Escobar in T16 with a score of 141 (+1). She shot a round two score of 73 (+3) today at Pelican Golf Club.

Separated by a stroke is Maisie Filler and Inès Archer in T21 and T24, respectively. The freshman, Archer, had the low round for the lineup with a 1-over 71 as Filler carded the third-lowest counting score in a 74 (+4).

The final two in the lineup feature Jackie Lucena in 68th and Paula Francisco in 69th.

Following the tournament, UF will find out its regional selection on April 24 live on Golf Channel. This year’s regional sites include Auburn, Ala., Cle Elum, Wash., College Station, Texas, East Lansing, Mich., Las Vegas, N.V. and Winston-Salem, N.C.
