UF WGOLF | Florida Finishes Day One of Cougar Classic

Freshman Elaine Widjaja had a team-low 4-under 67 in the second round.

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Florida women’s golf team finished the first day of the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall on Monday. The Gators are tied for 9th with a 36-hole score of 579 (+11).

Starting off her collegiate debut in the red, Addison Klonowski fired off an opening round of 1-under 70. The redshirt-freshman made three birdies in the round. She is tied for 27th with Inès Archer, who also had a round one of 70 (-1).

Two more Gators teed off their college careers in Jessica Guiser and Elaine Widjaja, who is competing as an individual. Widjaja recorded a second round of 67 (-4), which included a bogey-free front nine and a total of seven birdies. She moved up 24 spots and is tied for 14th and 1-under through 36-holes. Guiser sits T30.

Paula Francisco is tied for 40th as the sophomore moved up the leaderboard with a 1-under 70 in the second set of 18-holes.

Sarunchana Rattanasin rounds out the lineup in T84.
