Maisie Filler and Annabell Fuller earned their second career All-SEC honor as Clara Manzalini earned a spot on the conference community service team.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Maisie Filler and Annabell Fuller were both named to the All-SEC Second Team and Clara Manzalini to the SEC Community Service Team, the conference office announced Thursday.
Filler appeared in all 11 tournaments this season and owned a team-low 72.3 stroke average with a team-high 14 under-par rounds, including eight in the 60s. In the fall finale, she tied second all-time in program history for low 54-holes at 203 (-13) and was one stroke away from the program record set by current Epson Tour Pro Sam Wagner in 2016.
She set career-best in round (65), finish (2) and tournament (203) this season. The native of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., came up clutch in the 2022 SEC Championship to send the Gators to the finals. In the quarterfinals vs. Auburn, Filler was down by two holes when making the turn as the Tigers won two straight points after Florida took the first two to deadlock the semifinal matchup 2-2. A victory on 14 from Filler brought it to a tie and a huge putt on 16 put her 1-up and then she clinched it with birdie on 17. It marked the first appearance in the match play finals for the Gators since it was added in 2018.
Also playing in all 33 rounds (11 tournaments), Fuller posted a team-high three top-5 finishes with three consecutive – T4, T3, 2nd – to close out the regular-season. She was tied second on the team with six rounds in the 60 and tied her career-best with a 66 in the spring opener. Fuller earns back-to-back second team conference honors as she was named SEC Golfer of the Week this season for the second time in her career as well.
Manzalini participated in multiple community service events throughout the season. She worked with the Gator Lunch Buddies and Gators Read programs. The senior also taught local boy scouts about sportsmanship while also helping with Gators Track, which is an event that collects and delivers shoes to underprivileged youth in the area.
