Back-to-back career-highs helped the freshman to her first weekly SEC honor.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman Alberte Rimdal has earned her first Southeastern Conference weekly honor on Tuesday afternoon, earning SEC Freshman of the week following breakout performances against Auburn and Alabama.
The Koge, Denmark native scored a career-high 17 points on a perfect 6-of-6 day from the field in 22 minutes of action against Alabama. She also ended 5-for-5 from three-point range, the first perfect outing with at least five threes since before the 1999-2000 season. Her 6-of-6 performance also marked the best shooting performance by a UF employee since Ronnie Williams was a perfect 8-of-8 against Longwood on Nov. 17, 2004.
Against Auburn the game before, Rimdal recorded her previous career-high of 14 points, including a career-best 3-of-3 from the charity stripe with an assist. Over the course of the two games, Rimdal shot an impressive 6-of-8 from deep for 75% and 11-of-14 (78.6%) from the floor.
Florida will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 20 when they travel to Lexington, Ky., for a 7 p.m. ET matchup with No. 22 Kentucky.
