GATOR BITES:
Head Coach Kelly Rae Finley<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/kelly-rae-finley/1866> on her senior players:
“This team loves playing together and it’s not the end of our season by any stretch of the imagination. Jeriah and the rest of our seniors have put a lot of time into building this program and as their coach in this day and age of NIL and the transfer portal, they could have made a lot of different choices than to be here at Florida. So, as their coach, I’m proud of them. We just talked about the skills that they’ve learned on and off the court. Our program is different. We want to win, and we want to win on the court, but we also want to win at life.”
Head Coach Kelly Rae Finley<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/kelly-rae-finley/1866> on playing No. 1 Texas in the final conference match-up:
“Pretty cool opportunity, a sold-out arena on their home floor for the last game of the season, so you can look at it like, oh my gosh, wow. How did we get the No. 1 team as our last conference match? That’s not what competitors do. It’s not why you come to Florida. It’s not why you play in the SEC. Texas and Oklahoma finished one and two last year in the Big 12 standings; it’s why the SEC is the number one conference in women’s basketball in the country, arguably the number one conference in the world. So, to me, I think it’s a cool opportunity. Nobody else has that opportunity but us.”
