Following her three-year stint in Gainesville, Zippy Broughton will now take her talents overseas to play for a German-based professional team.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Zippy Broughton<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/zippy-broughton/16025> has announced her commitment to TK Hannover Luchse. The German-based professional team signed Broughton after she concluded her final season as a Gator in the spring of 2024.
While at Florida, Zippy Broughton<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/zippy-broughton/16025> appeared in 61 games, totaled 495 points, and closed out her career averaging 8.1 points a game. During the 2023-24 campaign, Broughton led Florida in assists totaling 81 in 32 games played. Broughton was also known for her efforts off the court within several communities. This past year Broughton was honored by the league and named to the SEC Community Service Team.
TK Hannover Luchse is one of the highest German basketball leagues in the nation and won the DBBL cup in both 2022-23 and 2023-24. The team has also reached the German playoffs for the last eight years straight, reflecting the organization’s consistent success.
TK Hannover Luchse plays its home games in the sports hall of the Otfried-Preußler-Schule in Hanover’s Südstadt. The official 2024-25 season is set to begin on Saturday, Sept. 28 with a home matchup against BC Pharmaserv Marburg.
