UF WBK: Assistant Coach Rhyne Howard Selected to USA Basketball for 2024 Olympics

Florida women’s basketball assistant coach, Rhyne Howard, has officially been selected to the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- USA Basketball unveiled the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team on Wednesday afternoon. Assistant Coach Rhyne Howard is among the four-member roster and will represent the United States at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The four-member roster includes Cameron Brink, Cierra Burdick, Rhyne Howard, and Hailey Van Lith. The official roster was selected by the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team Committee following training camps earlier this summer.

The 3×3 game differs from 5×5 and is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and a 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, as teams “clear” the ball behind the 2-point line following a made basket, defensive rebound, or steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-point field goals or 2-pointers behind the arc wins, or if time expires the leading team is victorious.

Each member of the team has both USA Basketball 5-on-5 and 3×3 experience. The four athletes attended the recent 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team training camp in Springfield, Massachusetts, and played in the subsequent FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Springfield Stop.

Jennifer Rizzotti, president of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun, will serve as the head coach, and Tammi Reiss (University of Rhode Island), will be the assistant coach during the Olympic Games.
