Florida women’s basketball announces they will compete in the 2023 Pink Flamingo Championship along with nine other teams. The Gators will take on Purdue and Columbia during the two-day tournament.
NASSAU, The Bahamas– The 2023 Pink Flamingo Championship announced that the Florida Gators will be one of ten teams to compete at the Baha Mar Convention Center this November. The two-day tournament consists of ten NCAA Division I women’s basketball teams, nine of which qualified for postseason play in 2022-23.
The 2023 Pink Flamingo Championship list of competition includes, Columbia (28-6, 12-2 Ivy League in 2022-23), East Carolina (23-10, 11-5 American Athletic), Georgia (22-12, 9-7 Southeastern), Oklahoma State (21-12, 10-8 Big 12), Penn State (14-17, 4-14 Big Ten), Purdue (19-11, 9-8 Big Ten), Seton Hall (19-15, 10-10 Big East), University of Southern California (21-10, 11-7 Pac-12), Florida (19-15, 5-11 Southeastern), and Ohio State (28-8, 12-6 Big Ten).
The non-bracketed Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship gives schools the opportunity to play a pair of games against some of the top women’s basketball programs in the nation. The Gators first matchup of the tournament will be at 4 p.m. against Purdue on Monday, Nov. 20. The team’s second slate will be on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m. against Columbia.
