Two Florida Signees, Liv McGill and Me’Arah O’Neal are among the top 24 high school players in the nation to be selected for the McDonald’s All-American game.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida signees, Liv McGill and Me’Arah O’Neal were selected to the 2024 McDonald’s All-American roster Tuesday afternoon. This marks the first time in program history that Florida has two signees in the same recruiting class to be named to the McDonald’s All-American roster.
Head coach Kelly Rae Finley comments on the achievement, “It is a prestigious honor for Liv and Me’Arah to be selected for the 2024 McDonald’s All-American game. They have both earned the opportunity to compete amongst the best players in the country and it’s exciting that they get to do it together. We are looking forward to seeing them on the same side of the court on April 2, and we hope Gator Nation tunes in to cheer them on!”
Liv McGill and Me’Arah O’Neal will join only two other Gators to receive this honor, Laila Reynolds and Ronni Williams. Reynolds was named to the 2023 All-American roster before joining the Gators this fall and Williams was selected for the 2013 roster.
Liv McGill is a 5’9 signee out of Minnesota and is Florida’s highest-ranked recruit in program history sitting at No. 7. In McGill’s last three seasons at Hopkins High School she averaged 14 points, three assists, and two steals per game. The top-ranked recruit has also played a large part in getting her high school team into consecutive state championship finals.
Me’Arah O’Neal hails from Houston, Texas, where she was the third-best prospect in the state for the 2024 recruiting class. O’Neal is a 6’4 guard/forward and is ranked fifth in the nation for her position. Currently, Me’Arah attends Episcopal High School where she earned All-Southwest Preparatory Conference as a junior. During the summer of 2023, O’Neal played with Texas-based EYBL club CyFair Elite on the AAU circuit, averaging 7.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
Florida fans can tune into the 2024 McDonald’s All-American Game on Tuesday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
