The 2024 Men’s Outdoor National Champions take home USTFCCCA’s Scholar Team of the Year Award, Valby claims Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year, and 18 Gators were named to the DI All-Academic Teams.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators collected multiple USTFCCCA All-Academic honors on Monday. Florida is the only school to boast both a scholar Team of the Year and scholar Athlete of the Year.
The Men’s Outdoor Team that took home the NCAA Outdoor Team Championship for a third straight year has now collected the USTFCCCA Scholar Team of the Year Award for the second straight season. The Gators, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.23, bring home their fifth Scholar Team of the Year award in program history, all of which were earned under Head coach Mike Holloway.
Parker Valby was named the DI Women’s Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year, the first Gator track athlete to take home the award. Valby joins Jasmine Moore (Indoor Field SAOY, ’22) as the only Gators to take home one of USTFCCCA’s individual academic honors. Valby, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5, won both the 3000 meters and 5000 meters at the 2024 NCAA DI Indoor Track & Field Championships, en route to being named SEC Female Athlete of the Year.
