The three-day meet takes place on Thursday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 1.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following an action-packed week at the SEC Championships, the University of Florida swimming & diving programs return home to host Florida State in the Florida Invitational, held inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Natatorium.
The three-day meet takes place Thursday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 1 and will feature prelims and finals sessions. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m. each day and are followed with finals at 4 p.m. Admission for all sessions is free, with live results available to paid subscribers on MeetMobile or on @GatorsSwimDV on socials.
The Invite provides an opportunity for swimmers to earn an NCAA Championship-qualifying time or improve upon their existing provisional cut. Currently, 10 swimmers (6 men; 4 women) have recorded an NCAA A-cut time in at least one event, while 49 (28 men; 21 women) have earned an NCAA B-cut time.
For the Thursday & Friday morning sessions spectators can park at the North Lawn of the football stadium. For the afternoon sessions as well as Saturday morning’s session, spectators can park in the O’Connell Center garage. Fans can enter through Gate 2 for all sessions.
At last week’s SEC Championships in Athens, Florida came away with a program-high 15 gold medals. Throughout the six days of competition, the Gators totaled 29 medals and broke 46 records including; two NCAA records, 13 program, 11 SEC Meet, 11 pool, six SEC, two US Open and one American. Additionally, 25 NCAA A-cuts were recorded throughout the final events.
Several Gators captured two event tiles, as Josh Liendo, Jonny Marshall, Julian Smith and Bella Sims took home two individual gold medals. Emma Weyant defended her title in the 400 IM for the third-straight year and Aleksas Savickas captured his first gold in the 200 breaststroke, while Gator divers Camyla Monroy and Conor Gesing swept the 1-meter diving competition.
Following this weekend’s meet, Florida turns its attention to the NCAA Championships, beginning with the Zone B Diving Championships, running March 10-12 at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center in Auburn, Ala. Both the Men’s and Women’s 2025 NCAA will be held in Federal Way, Wash. at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center. The Women’s Championships takes place from March 19-22, followed by the Men’s Championships on March 26-29.
