UF SB: Falby & Erickson Repeat As 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Winners

Falby and Erickson are just the second and third pair of repeat winners in the award’s history.

OKLAHOMA CITY – For the second season in a row, Kendra Falby and Jocelyn Erickson were named recipients of the 2025 NCAA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, on Wednesday during a press conference at the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

Falby and Erickson are just the second and third pair of repeat winners in the award’s history, earning the honor in centerfield and at catcher, respectively.

Since the award was established in 2022, three Gator student-athletes have been named winners five times, the most of any program in the nation.

Hannah Adams was the first Florida player to win the award in 2022 at second base.

Erickson, a junior, had another stellar season behind the plate for the Gators.

Runners have been wary to steal on her, throwing out eight who have attempted.

In two seasons in Gainesville, she has thrown out 21 runners stealing, just shy of top-10 in program history.

She held a .997 fielding percentage on the season, committing just one error in 306 chances, recording 289 putouts and 16 assists and help to turn four double plays.

One of Erickson’s notable season highlights was during Florida’s NCAA Super Regional match up against Georgia when she made a backhanded tag for the out at home plate after a relay from teammates Taylor Shumaker and Mia Williams.

Florida’s second winner, Falby, continued to be one of the most elite defenders in the country from centerfield in her senior season.

In addition to utilizing her speed to rob hits and make seemingly impossible diving catches, she’s also used her length and leaping ability to rob three home runs at the wall against Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M.

One of the most memorable moments of Falby’s season was robbing a grand slam in College Station, Texas, and then turning the double play for the out at home.

Erickson, Falby and the rest of the Florida softball team are set to take on Texas on Thursday, May 29, at 12 p.m. ET in the opening round of the 2025 Women’s College World Series at Devon Park.
