UF SB: Erickson Finds New Home with Gators

Jocelyn Erickson finished her freshman season at Oklahoma with a .337 batting average, 32 RBI and 18 extra-base hits.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Thursday afternoon Florida softball Head Coach Tim Walton announced the addition of Jocelyn Erickson to the program. Erickson, a transfer from Oklahoma, just completed her freshman season with the Sooners.

“We are thrilled that Jocelyn decided to join our program,” Walton said. “She is a competitor that has achieved success at every level because of her work ethic and knowledge of the game. We can’t wait to have Jocelyn join us this fall and be a part of her journey to becoming the best version of herself on the field and in the classroom.”

Erikson competed in 57 games, with 32 starts across multiple positions, at Oklahoma during their 2023 National Championship run and batted .337 with 32 RBI, 25 runs scored and 18 extra-base hits. She also posted a 10-game hit streak that included an eight RBI and 5-for-5 performance against Stephen F. Austin that tied the OU single game record for hits.

In high school, the Phoenix, Ariz. native competed at Sandra Day O’Connor where she let the team to a 2019 6A State Championship and was tabbed the 2022 Gatorade Arizona Softball Player of the Year prior to ending her prep career. She also was tabbed to the Arizona Republic All-State team, the 6A Conference Player of the Year, the Desert Valley Region Player of the Year, a MaxPreps First Team All-American and First Team High School All-American by Extra Inning Softball.

Erickson played travel ball with OC Batbusters-Stith and helped the organization win championships at Top Club Nationals, Triple Crown Nationals and Alliance Fastpitch Nationals during the 2022 cycle. The talented left-handed hitter was also the first to ever win the Triple Crown Award in the Alliance Fastpitch league. In addition, she was named to the 2022 Alliance All-Star Team and was named the Triple Crown National and Alliance Fastpitch National Championship Series Tournament MVP.
