The full, 64-team men’s and women’s tournaments began play on Friday, May 7, with the Round of 16 underway May 16-17 at the USTA National Tennis Campus. Florida, Baylor, Tennessee and Texas were the four top-ranked teams heading into the men’s bracket. The four top-ranked women’s schools coming into the event were North Carolina, Texas, Georgia and UCLA.
Longtime partners Tennis Channel and the USTA brought the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships live to national television audiences for the first time in 2019, and continue to work together to grow awareness for the college game. Sam Gore (@sambgore) will announce all matches for Tennis Channel this year alongside analyst Katrina Adams (@katadams68). Adams, who won the NCAA doubles title in 1987 while playing for Northwestern, later became the youngest president of the USTA, the first African American in that role and the first president to serve two consecutive terms.
