Gators enter 13-team tournament in the quarterfinal round
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 1 Florida (18-1, 12-0 SEC) is scheduled to open up play in the Southeastern Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET against either No. 18 Alabama (14-10, 5-7 SEC) or No. 17 Mississippi State (15-8, 5-7 SEC) at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
The Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs are the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds and will square off on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET to determine who will play the Gators on Wednesday in the quarterfinal.
During the regular season, UF defeated Alabama, 6-1, and Mississippi State, 7-0, en route to going undefeated conference play and winning the SEC regular season title.
Florida closed out the regular season on a 15-match winning streak.
If the Gators win on Wednesday, they would then be scheduled to play in the semifinal on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET and then the final on 12:30 p.m. ET. The final will be televised live on SEC Network.
