Tanapatt Nirundorn and Borys Zgola advance to the Bedford Cup doubles final
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men’s tennis team is underway at a pair of individual tournaments, competing in the Bedford Cup at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla., and the Battle in the Bay out west in San Francisco.
In Bedford Cup action, sophomores Tanapatt Nirundorn and Borys Zgola earned a pair of doubles victories on Friday to win their way into Sunday’s doubles final. On the singles courts, three Gators picked up victories, with Magnus Johnson and Olek Orlikowski winning their way into the “A” draw’s quarterfinals, while Zgola advanced to the “B” draw quarters.
Nate Bonetto and Aidan Kim have been in action at the Battle in the Bay beginning on Thursday. Kim is set for competition in the singles consolation quarterfinals on Saturday vs. Illinois’ Alex Petrov.
