LAKE NONA, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s Tennis fell to no. 23 Florida State by a score of 4-0 on Saturday, February 3 at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla. The match marks the first loss for the Gators at College MatchDay since 2018.

Jefferson and Jin found immediate success, but a heartbreaking 7-6 tiebreaker loss on court two handed the doubles point to the Seminoles.

The singles lineup also saw adjustments, seeing Adhithya Ganesan boosted to court two, and a reintroduction of Kevin Edengren to court six.

The Gators led or were tied in all three remaining matches When Florida State’s fourth point ended the action.

Jeremy Jin staged a notable comeback, dropping his first set 6-0, and coming all the way back to lead his third set 4-0 before the match was left unfinished.

The Gators now head back to Gainesville to prepare for their trip to Austin, Texas to face the No. 4 Longhorns.
