UF MGOLF | Poulter Named SEC Freshman of the Week for the Second Time

Luke Poulter finished a career-best sixth at the Sea Best Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s golfer Luke Poulter was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. This is Poulter’s second time earning the award and was based off his play in the Sea Best Invitational.

In Poulter’s first tournament of the spring season, he set career bests in round score (67) and tournament score (210). The redshirt-freshman also had a career best sixth place finish.

Poulter averaged 2.92 on par-3s, 4.06 on par-4s and 4.83 on par-5s. Over the three rounds he made 33 pars and 12 birdies. He shot a final round of 3-under 67 that featured a bogey-free back nine.

Florida is set to host the Gators Invitational at Mark Bostick Golf Course from Feb. 17-18.
