Florida is 21-under as round two was halted due to darkness on Saturday.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 12 Florida men’s golf team leads the field by five shots at the Augusta Haskins Award Invite on Saturday. After round one was delayed due to weather, round two was halted due to darkness halfway through the scheduled 36 holes.
Florida is 21-under through holes 10-12 with three Gators in the top-10. UF shot a round one of 276 (-12) and trailed by a stroke before pushing out to the lead in round two.
Both Fred Biondi and Ricky Castillo are tied for second at 7-under. Biondi was the solo leader after his tournament-low 66 (-6) in round one. Castillo helped the Gators add to its lead after going eagle-birdie to end the back nine in round two. The duo recorded their team-leading 17th round of even / under par.
Three straight birdies from Yuxin Lin to start round two gave Florida the lead. The spring Haskins Award Watch List recipient, is in 6th at 6-under as he shot a round one of 69 (-3).
Recording the fourth under par round was John DuBois with a 71 (-1). The senior is tied for 22nd followed by Matthew Kress in T45.
Play will resume tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. with the rest of round two followed immediately by round three.
