UF MGOLF: Gators in Prime Position for Round Two of Linger Longer

Florida sits five strokes back from the lead and Fred Biondi (-5) is tied for the 1st.

EATONTON, Ga. – The Florida men’s golf team finished third and trails five strokes from the lead after round one of the Linger Longer on Sunday.

Fred Biondi paces the Gators (-4) after shooting a 67 (-5) on the first day. The round marked his sixth round in the 60’s this spring. He sits tied for first as she sank six birdies, including a bogey-free back nine at 3-under.

Erasing two bogeys to begin the round, Yuxin Lin found his groove and used back-to-back birdies on five and six to finish 1-under 71.

In one stroke of one another is John DuBois (T20), Joe Pagdin (T30) and Quentin Debove (T37) followed by Ricky Castillo at T58.

The Gators tee off round two at Great Waters Golf Club at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
