UF MGOLF | Final Round of OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational Cancelled

The Gators finish 9th as the tournament was called through 36 holes at Olympia Fields.

CHICAGO – The final round of the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational was cancelled due to weather causing unplayable conditions on Sunday.

Florida finished 9th after 36 holes in the season opener led by newcomer Ian Gilligan, who placed a team-best T8 after his round two of 65 (-5) yesterday. He was one of three Gators to make their debuts for UF, joining Luke Poulter and Jack Turner, who both made their collegiate debuts. Matthew Kress was stroke outside the top-25 for a T26 finish with Parker Bell right behind two back in T37.

North Carolina won the tournament with a team score of 10-under 550 as one of three teams under par.

The fall slate continues next week (Sept. 25-27) at the SEC Fall Preview at the Country Club of Birmingham, where the tournament will feature both stroke and match play among conference teams.
