Gators open league play at home vs. Kentucky on Jan. 6
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida will open its 2023-24 men’s basketball conference slate Jan. 6 at home against Kentucky as the Southeastern Conference announced the upcoming season’s league schedule on Thursday.
In addition to the conference opener, UF has weekend home dates against Arkansas (Jan. 13), Georgia (Jan. 27), Auburn (Feb. 10) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 24). Midweek home contests include Mississippi State (Jan. 24), LSU (Feb.1 3), Missouri (Feb. 28) and a Senior Night matchup vs. Alabama (March 5).
The Gators end the month of January with a trip to Kentucky to wrap the season series on Jan. 31. By contrast, Florida will pack its respective two-game series vs. Alabama and Vanderbilt into the final three weeks of the regular season, including the home finale vs. Alabama and the regular season finale at Vanderbilt (March 9). UF’s Georgia and Missouri series will include one matchup each in January and February.
This will mark the first time UF and Kentucky square off in the conference opener since 1998-99, the first in Gainesville since 1978-79.
Times and television designations will be determined in the coming weeks.
