Theresa Bragg, Kaitlyn Davies and Elyse Finnelle have been named USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American Honorable Mention.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three players from the Florida lacrosse team have been named USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-Americans, announced on Wednesday morning. Theresa Bragg (Defender), Kaitlyn Davies (Midfielder) and Elyse Finnelle (Goalkeeper) have all nabbed Honorable Mention honors.
Florida is one of 10 teams to have three or more all-Americans, as they also have the most honorees in the Big 12.
Bragg, who was recently named a captain for the 2025 season, has earned her first all-American honor in her career. The junior defender started all 23 games in 2024, totaling 24 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers, three draw controls and an assist. The Severna Park, Md. native captured three games with two or more caused turnovers and seven games with two or more ground balls. A second team All-AAC selection in 2024, Bragg was ranked as the No. 48 player by Inside Lacrosse coming into the 2025 season.
Davies was also named a captain for the 2025 season. The junior midfielder saw action in 22 games last season, making 21 starts, while compiling 13 ground balls, 15 draw controls, eight caused turnovers and one goal. Davies, who played defense in 2024, logged two games of two or more ground balls and three games of two or more draw controls. The Wayne, N.J. native gathered honors of IWLCA South Region Second Team, All-AAC Second Team, and AAC Defensive Player of the Week (one-time).
Finnelle ranked third in the nation last season with a .529 save percentage, in route to a 9-3 record. The redshirt-junior saved 156 shots, corralled a team high 35 ground balls and caused seven turnovers. The Deale, Md. native logged seven games with 10 or more saves and was named AAC Goalkeeper of the Week two times. Finnelle was flooded with 2024 accolades, hauling in AAC Goalkeeper of the Year, Inside Lacrosse All-American Third Team, IWLCA South Region First Team, and USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention. The goalkeeper was ranked the No. 38 player heading into the 2025 season by Inside Lacrosse.
UF opens up the regular season in 16 days with a road matchup against Johns Hopkins on Feb. 7 at 11 a.m.
