Florida has now had 18 players earn 36 Tewaaraton nominations
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore attacker Danielle Pavinelli was named to the 2022 Tewaaraton Watch List through the first round of additions, as the Tewaaraton Foundation announced Thursday.
Pavinelli – a Northport, N.Y. native – earned the honor for the first time in her career. Overall, the Gators have had 18 players earn 36 Tewaaraton Award Nominations in the 13-year history of Florida lacrosse, with five finalists.
The 2022 season marks the 21st anniversary of the Tewaaraton award.
The sophomore earned the distinction after scoring 28 points on 21 goals and seven assists through Florida’s first five games this season. She scored a career-high eight points against No. 2 North Carolina, tallying six goals and two assists.
Pavinelli has recorded a hat trick or better in every game this season, including a total of 14 goals and three assists against three Top-5 opponents. She is currently shooting .600 through the five games and ranks in the Top-10 in the nation in both goals per game and points per game.
The Northport, N.Y. native has also recorded eight caused turnovers, picked up six groundballs and has registered three draw controls this season.
For her efforts, she has earned an AAC Weekly honor each of the four weeks this season – Attacker of the Week (1), Honor Roll (3).

Five finalists will be announced in early Mary. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.
