Gators-Owls Set for Marquee AAC Matchup
The winner of Saturday’s game will clinch at least a share of the AAC Regular Season Championship
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 10th-ranked Florida lacrosse team returns home on Saturday to take on the Temple Owls with the AAC Championship on the line.
Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. on YouTube. In the latest IWLCA/ILWomen Top-25 Poll, the Owls were receiving votes, while Florida stayed steady at No. 10 for the fourth-straight week.

With a win on Saturday, either team can clinch at least a share of the AAC Championship. It would be Florida’s third regular season AAC championship in three complete seasons and would be the 11th-straight year that the Gators hoist the regular season trophy.
The Gators and the Owls are meeting for the 13th time in program history, with Florida holding the 12-0 series advantage. The last time these two teams faced off, UF topped Temple 19-4 in the AAC Championship game on May 8, 2021 in Gainesville, Fla.
In its last contest, Florida defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 18-6 in league play, while Temple won its matchup against East Carolina, 15-10.

* Saturday will serve as Senior Day for the nine-person Florida class. Be sure to be seated by 11:40 a.m. when the ceremony is set to begin

* This senior class has gone 48-16 overall and 18-0 in conference play, with two regular season AAC Championships, two AAC Tournament Championships and a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals

Scouting the Owls
* Temple sits 10-4 overall in the 2022 campaign and 3-0 in league play. The Owls are currently receiving votes in the IWLCA/ILWomen Top-25 poll and are 0-3 against ranked opponents coming into Saturday’s matchup
* Florida holds the 12-0 series advantage over Temple, including a 5-0 record in Gainesville, Fla.
* Through 14 games, Belle Mastropierto (40g, 16a), Quinn Nicolai (43g, 9a), Mackenzie Roth (20g, 32a), Riley McGowan (27g, 1a) and Camryn Zavacky (4g, 16a) are leading the way offensively
* Mastropietro, Maddie Barber and Katie Shallow are leading the way in the draw circle, with 77, 43 and 32 draws, respectively
