GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4 Florida lacrosse team (12-2, 3-0 Big 12) will take on Stetson (5-8, 0-5 ASUN) in the first of a three game homestand on Tuesday evening. First draw is set for 6 p.m.
The first 150 fans in attendance will receive a concessions voucher for free nachos, distributed at the main gate.
The Gators are coming off a 15-10 conference victory over Colorado on Saturday afternoon. UF trailed by as many as three goals, but used a 6-0 third quarter run to outscore the Buffaloes 7-3 in the frame to earn their ninth-straight win.
Series Recap
It is the fifth career meeting between the Gators and Hatters, with Florida leading the all-time series 4-0. The two teams last met on March 23, 2022, where the Gators were victorious by a 19-5 margin in Gainesville.
Florida has won all four matchups by double digits, winning by an average margin of 17.25 goals per contest (83-14 total). UF owns a 2-0 record in Gainesville against Stetson.
Multi-Goal Scorers
The Gators had six multi-goal scorers on Saturday, tying a season high. Gianna Monaco, Gabbi Koury and Ava Tighe each tallied three goals, while Jordan Basso, Jenny Markey and Josie scored two apiece. It was the seventh time this season five or more different players recorded two or more goals in a game.
Doing it in her Home State
Colorado native Sam Hughes scooped a career high three ground balls on Saturday against the Buffaloes. The Castle Rock, Colo. native has recorded a ground ball in three consecutive games and has three games this season with two or more ground balls.
Tighe it Up
Junior Ava Tighe recorded her first career hat-trick last game, going three-for-three on free-position opportunities. Tighe, a preseason All-Big 12 Selection, has compiled seven goals over her last three games with an .875 shooting percentage.
