16 different goal scorers are the most in a game since April 15, 2015
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Florida lacrosse team completed a perfect road trip out west, defeating the San Diego State Aztecs 23-5. 23 goals are the most the Gators have scored since May 14, 2021. This is Florida’s fifth straight victory and their fourth consecutive win by 14 or more goals. Sara Toner of San Diego State had a hat-trick in the loss. This win moves the Gators to 5-2, and drops the Aztecs to 1-6.
Florida had 17 different players record a point, with 16 of them scoring a goal. The Gators were led by Maggi Hall who had seven points, with two goals and five assists. The Senior became the all-time leader in assists in Florida history after her fifth assist of the day in the second quarter. She now sits at 95 career assists, and has 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists) over her last two games.
Madison Waters and Gianna Monaco both had hat-tricks in the win, along with two goals apiece from Sarah Falk and Ava Tighe. Kaitlyn Davies, Emily Heller, Danielle Pavinelli, Cate Isaacson, Makena Harrington, Delaney Radin, Ashley Gonzalez, Gabbi Koury, Carly Wilson, Jackie Norsworthy and Paisley Eagan all scored one goal each. Davies and Norsworthy both had their first goals of the season, while Wilson scored the first goal of her career. 16 different goal scorers were the most in a regular season game since April 15, 2015 against Cincinnati.
The Gators dominated once again on the draw controls, winning 23-6 in that department. Liz Harrison did her thing winning 12 draws, and Norsworthy contributed with a career high three.
Georgia Hoey earned her fifth win of the season in net, stopping six shots today. Elyse Finnelle pitched in a stellar second half with three saves.

“This was another great team win with a lot of good things happening at both ends of the field. We had a wonderful trip and came away with three good wins. Now we look forward to playing a very good Princeton team.”
How It Happened
* The Gators started off hot, with two goals in the first 48 seconds of the game, both from Waters assisted by Hall to make it 2-0.
* After a goal from Toner at the 12:58 mark, Florida answered 26 seconds later on a goal from Monaco delivered from Hall
* With 8:54 left, Eagan scored on an assist from Hall. Then a little over six minutes later off a caused turnover from Hoey, the Gators got out in transition leading to a goal from Pavinelli assisted by Gonzalez to make it 5-1.
* With 1:26 left, Eagan returned the favor, feeding Hall for her first of the game to conclude the first quarter. Florida led 6-1.
Second Quarter
* Monaco kicked off the second quarter scoring, with a dodge around the net for her second goal of the game.
* Following an Aztec goal, Hall found Waters to give her a hat-trick on the day. This assist made Hall the all-time assists leader in Florida history.
* Heller ripped a goal into the back of the cage with 10:46 left to increase the lead to 9-2.
* A minute later, Hall scored her second of the game off a dodge to make it 10-2.
* After an Aztec’s turnover, the Gators were out on the fast break, leading to Davies first goal of the season off a pass from Pavinelli to push the lead to nine.
* Following a goal from San Diego State, the Gators scored three consecutive goals to end the half. Monaco scored her third of the game off an assist from Waters, and Koury and Falk scored unassisted goals to make the score 14-3 at halftime. Florida outshot the Aztecs 23-9 in the first half.
Third Quarter
* 58 seconds into the second half, Lea Flobeck found Pavinelli for the goal to extend the Gators lead to a dozen.
* Tighe got in on the action, scoring her first goal of the game on a beautiful dodge to make it 16-3.
* The Gators outscored the Aztecs 3-1 the rest of the quarter, with a free position goal from Falk, and two creative unassisted goals from Harrington and Radin. Florida led 19-4 after three.
Fourth Quarter
* Florida outscored San Diego State 4-1 in the fourth, with four different goal scorers. Isaacson, Norsworthy, Wilson and Tighe all scored, with it being Norsworthy’s first goal of the season and Wilson’s first of her career.
* UF won four draw controls in the fourth compared to San Diego State’s one to help seal the 23-5 victory.

* The Gators tied a season high in assists with 13
* UF outshot the Aztecs 37-15, including 13-2 in the first quarter.
