MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The UAB Women’s Soccer team picked up its first victory of the season and first win in the Lisa Mann era in its 4-1 triumph over Alabama State on Thursday night.
Anais Oularbi got the Blazers on the board in the 11th minute and Jolie St Louis followed 31 seconds later to give UAB a 2-0 lead.
UAB continued to pour on the offense in the 2nd half as Ava Martin and Morgan Halliwill each found the back of the net in the 50th and 61st minutes, respectively, to make the score 4-0.
ASU got its lone goal on a penalty kick in the 74th minute.
UAB outshot Alabama State 23-2 and had 14 shots on target. The Blazers had eight corner kicks to ASU’s zero.
The next match is against Jacksonville State on Aug. 27 at PNC Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. The Gamecocks are playing at Samford this evening.

Blazer Buddies is the new official kids club of UAB Athletics and is open to all kids ages 12 and under. Blazer Buddies will receive a Blazer Buddies Kids Club ID which grants admission to all home men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball, softball, and baseball games. Blazer Buddies Kids Club members will also be eligible for discounted tickets to the UAB football game versus Louisiana on Sept. 16 and select men’s basketball games.
