NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Avery Berryman fed Carlyn Presley in the sixth minute for the only goal of the match in UAB’s 1-0 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Blazers (3-2-1) extended their unbeaten streak to four matches while the Ladyjacks fall to1-5-0.
Keeper Eve Beyer stopped four SFA shots to record her 17th career shutout. Presley led all players with three shots.
As a team UAB outshot SFA 16-9, with seven of those 16 on target.
The goal began with a SFA goal kick that was headed by Morgan Halliwill inside the midfield line. Berryman came up with the ball and chipped it to Presley in the box. One dribble later, Presley beat the keeper on the short side.
Up next, the Blazers return to PNC Field to host Tennessee Tech Sept. 7.

Blazer Buddies Kids Club members will also be eligible for discounted tickets to the UAB football game versus Louisiana on Sept. 16 and select men’s basketball games.
