UAB (8-3, 0-2 C-USA) is coming off a 76-58 loss at UTEP on Dec. 29. The Blazers are 2-2 on the road this season.
UTSA LATELY
UTSA (2-8, 0-1 C-USA) lost its Conference USA opener against LA Tech 62-57 on Dec. 29. The Roadrunners have a 2-1 mark at home this season.
UAB AND UTSA HISTORY
The series began in 2014 when UTSA joined Conference USA. After splitting the series’ first four games, UAB won the next five before the Roadrunners’ overtime win on Jan. 1, 2022. The teams have met once in the C-USA Championship with the Blazers defeating the Roadrunners in 2021. UAB leads the series 8-3 and 4-2 in San Antonio.
LAST TIME AGAINST UTSA
Margaret Whitley hit six straight free throws in the final 33 seconds to solidify UAB’s 57-50 victory over UTSA on Feb. 23, 2022.

UAB and UTSA have nine common opponents this season, all Conference USA teams.

UAB TO THE AAC
American Athletic Conference officials announced that Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Rice and Texas San Antonio will join UAB as new members in the AAC and compete against current AAC members East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The move will be official on July 1, 2023.
