BIRMINGHAM– The UAB men’s soccer team will host Montevallo in a home exhibition match on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at BBVA Field.
“We are excited about the opportunity to finally play a home game in front of our friends and family,” said head coach Jeff Kinney. “With some new faces in the group, we plan on playing a lot of players in different spots to see how their chemistry plays out in a match. These exhibition matches are crucial to our development as we gear up for the regular season and we are looking forward to it.”
UAB finished their exhibition last week against Lipscomb in a 1-1 draw. The Blazers had seven shots on the night including a goal by senior Grayson Dupont in the 72nd minute.
Teodor Thorvaldsen tallied two shots while Dupont, Nathaniel St. Louis and Brooks Rice all finished the game with one shot.
Montevallo started their spring schedule with a 2-0 exhibition loss to William Carey. The Falcons went 6-9-2 in 2019.
The Blazers will start their 2021 spring season on Feb. 16 against Central Arkansas at BBVA Field.
BBVA Field will accommodate fans with social distancing measures in place.
Fans will be asked to practice social distancing and sit in available seats. Masks are required at all times per state and county ordinance.
