FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA – A day after qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor National Championship, Kamila Soja adds another accolade to her impressive resume. The sophomore earned USTFCCCA All-Region Honors on Wednesday morning after her stellar performance this past weekend in the 10,000 meters.
Head Coach Bryan Hagopian – We are totally excited on Kamila making the All-Regional team. This is something that is really important to her and shows what her dedication is to the sport. As far as qualifying for national goes, it is a special honor to make it to Nationals. Especially in the 10K, I believe she can do very well and hopefully bring home an All-American award.
Soja who ranked 37th in the NCAA DII rankings in the 10,000 meters going into the past weekend’s meet at Lee University, took a minute off her PR en route to a second place finish and a spot at the national meet in Pueblo, CO. Her time of 34:49.26 currently ranks her 18th in Divison II in the 10,000 meters ahead of Thursday night’s NCAA final.
Soja is scheduled to race Thursday, May 25th, at 8:10 p.m.
