SWIM – Sharks Split Dual Meet Against the River

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Swim teams opened up the 2025 portion of their schedule on Friday morning from the NSU Aquatic Center, as they hosted the Indian River State College River. The Women’s team was victorious, winning 173-89, while the Men’s team fell to the River 177-84.

(Women’s)

  • The group of Maria GoncalvesClaire GassKristina Orban, and Maya Esparza took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.99.
  • Hailey Williams placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:24.53.
  • Orban finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:49.75. Following Orban in second with a time of 1:51.03 was Emilia Ronningdal.
  • In the 100 back, Goncalves took second with a time of 57.21.
  • With a time of 1:02.60, Gass was victorious in the 100 breast. Taking second with a time of 1:03.64 was Hannah Montgomery.
  • May Lowy placed first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:02.59.
  • Esparza captured first in the 50 free with a time of 23.35.
  • Zsofia Kurdi finished first in the 100 free with a time of 51.31. Orban took second with a time of 51.33.
  • Lowy took second in the 200 back with a time of 2:05.20.
  • In the 200 breast, Gass secured first with a time of 2:20.53. Gardner placed second with a time of 2:20.64.
  • With a time of 4:57.39, Williams was victorious in the 500 free.
  • Ronningdal secured second in the 100 fly with a time of 57.27.
  • In the 200 IM, Ronningdal claimed the victory, finishing with a time of 2:04.81. In second with a time of 2:05.63 was Lowy.
  • With a time of 1:33.30, the group of Orban, Kurdi, Goncalves, and Esparza placed first in the 200 free relay.
How it Happened

(Men’s)

  • Luca Alessandrini took second in the 1000 free with a time of 9:17.92.
  • Inigo Marina placed second in the 100 breast with a time of 55.66.
  • Joshua Parry finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.45.
  • In the 200 back, Gustav Henriksen secured second with a time of 1:48.72.
  • With a time of 2:00.96, Marina took second in the 200 breast.
  • Alessandrini placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:29.69.
  • Parry was victorious in the 100 fly with a time of 48.47.
  • Henriksen finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.82.
  • The group of Parry, Thomas FlowerMateus Ribeiro, and Gavin Lindley secured second with a time of 1:22.60.
How it Happened

The Sharks are back in the pool on January 17th at 1:30 PM as they travel to Winter Park, Florida to take on the Rollins College Tar.
