SWIM – NSU Takes Down Florida Southern

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Sharks Swim teams returned to the pool Saturday morning, as they went head-to-head with the Florida Southern Mocs from Lakeland, Florida. The Women’s team won 209-47, and the Men’s team won 131.5-130.5.

(Women’s)

  • The group of Mollie MorfeltClaire GassKristina Orban, and Maya Esparza was victorious in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.85.
  • Hailey Williams placed first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:22.02.
  • Emilia Ronningdal was victorious in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.16.
  • In the 100 back, Maria Goncalves took first with a time of 57.73.
  • With a time of 1:04.34, Zosfia Kurdi placed first in the 100 breast.
  • May Lowy finished first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.85.
  • Esparza was victorious in the 50 free with a time of 23.62.
  • Kurdi placed first in the 100 free with a time of 50.98.
  • In the 200 back, Alexa Fuleky took first with a time of 2:06.44.
  • With a time of 2:19.27, Ronningdal finished first in the 200 breast.
  • Ilaria Muzilli was victorious in the 500 free with a time of 5:08.07.
  • Orban took the victory in the 100 fly with a time of 56.47.
  • Lowy took her second victory of the day, this time winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.82.
  • The group of Ronningdal, Goncalves, Isabella Hernandez, and Kurdi placed first in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:28.54.

(Men’s)

  • Luca Alessandrini took first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:19.49.
  • Joshua Parry placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.94.
  • In the 100 breast, Inigio Marina was victorious with a time of 55.68.
  • With a time of 1:48.98, Alessandrini finished first in the 200 fly.
  • Gustav Henriksen placed first in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.84.
  • Marina took first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:01.86.
  • Alessandrini took his third victory of the day, this time winning the 500 free with a time of 4:29.69.
  • Henriksen was victorious in the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.82.
  • The group of Parry, Mateus Ribeiro, Marina, and Gavin Lindley battled back at the very end and took the victory in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:00.56, beating the Mocs’ relay group by 0.10.
How it Happened

The Sharks close out the regular season on January 24th at the NSU Aquatic Center as they host Keiser. Senior day festivities will begin at 9:30 AM, with the meet scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
