Swim – NSU Sweeps Barry and FAU in Tri-Meet

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Despite a rainy afternoon, the Nova Southeastern Sharks Swim teams put together a great performance against Barry and Florida Atlantic. The Men’s team took down FAU for the first time in school history, winning 141-121, while also claiming victory over Barry 191-69. For the Women’s team, they defeated FAU 132-130, and Barry 221-35.

(Women’s)

  • The group of Maria GoncalvesHannah MontgomeryKristina Orban, and Maya Esparza captured first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.38. 
  • In the 100 breast, Claire Gass placed first with a time of 1:05.10. Placing second with a time of 1:05.20 was Montgomery.
  • Esparza secured first in the 50 free with a time of 23.74. Zsofia Kurdi took third with a time of 24.57.
  • With a time of 51.66, Orban took first in the 100 free.
  • In the 200 breast, Montgomery claimed victory with a time of 2:21.00. Gass placed third with a time of 2:25.40.
  • Orban secured another first place finish, this time in the 100 fly with a time of 56.34.
  • With a time of 2:07.02, Emilia Ronningdal captured first in the 200 individual medley.
  • Orban, Kurdi, Esparza, and Ronningdal were victorious in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:29.18.
How it Happened

(Men’s)

  • Luca Alessandrini secured first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:38.37.
  • In the 100 back, Gustav Henriksen took first with a time of 50.96.
  • With a time of 21.35, Mateus Ribeiro placed first in the 50 free.
  • Henriksen secured his second first-place finish of the day, claiming victory in the 200 back with a time of 1:50.74.
  • In the 500 free, Alessandrini captured another first place finish, securing the win with a time of 4:35.90.
  • Michael Kent brought home the victory in the 100 fly with a time of 50.80. Joshua Parry took second with a time of 50.85.
  • Henriksen continued his stellar day with a victory in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:53.58. Following behind him in second was Kent with a time of 1:55.09.

What's Next

The Sharks return to the pool on November 2nd, as they travel to Tampa, Florida to take on the Tampa Spartans at the Riseman Aquatics Center at 10:00 AM.
