October 5, 2019, The Stuart Jensen Beach Elks Lodge # 1870 is hosting its sixth annual “OPERATION THANK YOU” event, to extend a sincere Thank You to Martin County’s First Responders: The Sheriff’s Office, Fire/Rescue Department, Stuart Police Department, and Stuart Fire Department, all Dispatchers and Martin County Jail.
Those who are attending, along with their guests, will be treated to a wonderful evening including appetizers, dinner, and entertainment. They will also receive prizes of various donated items from the community. On duty personnel are invited to stop by and pick up meals, and the lodge will be delivering meals to those on duty who can’t get to the lodge that evening.
This year’s event theme is “Hidden Treasure of the Treasure Coast”. These wonderful people are out in our communities every day, putting their lives on the line, especially during high risk events when most of us are seeking shelter. They stay on the job and face anything and everything to help keep the community safe.
Last year the Lodge sponsored 60 First Responders and their guests at this event, and delivered meals to all 13 Martin County Firehouses, Dispatchers who were on duty, County Jail and Sheriffs Office Personnel who were on duty. This year the Lodge is once again showing its appreciation and is looking forward to an even larger turnout.
The community is encouraged to participate by attending the event, donating services or gift certificates as a way of showing support to our ‘Hidden Treasure’.
