South Florida Men’s Golf – Bulls Open 2024-25 Campaign at Visit Knoxville Collegiate

TAMPA, Fla. (September 5, 2024) – The University of South Florida men’s golf team begins the 2024-25 season on Friday at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. Head Coach Steve Bradley enters his 11th season at the helm for the Bulls.

The Tennessee National Golf Club is a par-70 course and will play 7,280 yards. The individual winner of the Visit Knoxville Collegiate will earn an exemption for a start on the Korn Ferry Tour. Live results for the weekend can be found here.

South Florida will be joined by six of the top 30 teams in the country including host Tennessee (6), Charlotte, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, East Tennessee State (29), Georgia Tech (13), Indiana, LSU (27), Mississippi State (28), Ole Miss (12), North Florida, Penn State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin. Jake Peacock, Shubham Jaglan, Cooper Smith, Nino Palmquist, and Chase Gullikson will represent the Bulls in Tennessee, while Matthew Joseph will be competing as an individual.

Earlier this week, Peacock was named to The Haskins Award Fall Watch List and will begin the season as the No. 25 ranked player by PGA Tour University. He was named the American Conference Player of the Year, a Ping Southeast All-Region Team member, earned his second-consecutive CSC Academic All-District accolade, and collected his second GCAA All-American Scholar. During the 2023-24, Peacock won two tournaments, including the 2024 AAC Championship. During the summer, he defended his title and won the Georgia Amateur Championship.

South Florida golfers had a lot of success on the course during the summer. Smith won the Monroe Invitational. Jaglan finished second at the Dogwood Invitational, second at the Porter Cup, and fifth at the Kentucky Open. During the Kentucky Open, he averaged 67.6. Gullikson finished tied for third at the Magnolia Amateur.

James Hassell and Wilhelm Ryding also had successful summers. Hassell won the FSGA State Amateur Match Play Championship, finished second at the Florida Open, and tied for third at the Magnolia Amateur. Ryding finished second at the Brabazon Trophy, one of the top amateur events in Europe.

The USF men’s golf program has captured 19 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won six American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 24 tournament wins under Bradley including three in the 2023-24 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
