Softball – NSU Softball honors senior class, completes series sweep over Lynn


FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA —The Nova Southeastern Softball team closed out the regular season on a seven-game winning streak after completing a series sweep over the Lynn Fighting Knights on Saturday afternoon at the NSU Softball Stadium. 

Prior to today’s doubleheader NSU athletics honored seven seniors, Erin McGlothlinBrenna LokeinskyTori CopelandAlisha LanyonCassidy DuskinLauren Margolis, and Lydia Drake.

How it Happened

BOT 2nd – With the bases loaded, Brianna Matthews was walked, bringing home the game’s first run. Shortly after, a sacrifice fly by Cassidy Duskin extended NSU’s lead to 2-0. 

Stellar pitching by Duskin kept the Fighting Knights at bay as she completed the complete game shutout victory for NSU.

How it Happened

TOP 1st – The Fighting Knights got off to a hot start, taking an early 2-0 lead.

BOT 1st – RBIs by Brenna LokeinskyTori Copeland, and Lauren Margolis pushed the Sharks ahead, giving them a 3-2 advantage.

TOP 2nd – Lokeinsky continued to impress as she batted in two runs, extending the Sharks’ lead to three runs.

BOT 3rd – Lynn answered with two runs, cutting their deficit to 5-4.

TOP 4th – Cassidy Patterson showcased her speed, stealing home and tacking the Sharks’ sixth run of the game on the board.

BOT 5th – A fielder’s choice allowed Margolis to score, bringing the score to 7-4.

BOT 6th – NSU wasn’t finished yet, scoring two more runs off an RBI single by Abbey Moore, ultimately securing the 9-4 win over the Lynn Fighting Knights.
