Softball – #18 Sharks end season at NCAA South Regional Tournament

TAMPA, FL – The 18th ranked Nova Southeastern Softball team saw their season come to an end at the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon from Naimoli Field after dropping matchups against #5 Tampa and Barry.

How it Happened

TOP 1st – RBIs from Lauren MargolisAbbey Moore, and Maliyah Lawson propelled the Sharks to the early 3-0 lead.

BOT 1st – The Spartans answered with three runs of their own to tie the game at three apiece.

BOT 3rd – The run barrage continued for Tampa as they tacked on three more runs to push themselves ahead 6-3.

BOT 6th – Tampa added their seventh run of the game, extending their lead to four runs.

TOP 7th –  A late rally by NSU backed by two RBIs from Lawson, fell short as the Sharks dropped the matchup against Tampa 7-5.

 How it Happened  

BOT 1st – Barry started the action early, tacking on three runs to take a 3-0 lead.

BOT 6th – The Bucs added another run on the board to extend their lead to 4-0. 

TOP 7th – The Sharks weren’t going away yet as back-to-back RBIs from Cassidy Patterson and Tori Copeland brought the Sharks within two runs. Shortly after, Lokeinsky scored off a wild pitch to cut the Sharks’ deficit to one run. Despite the late rally, NSU couldn’t complete the comeback and dropped the elimination game matchup against the Barry Buccaneers 4-3.
