CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Five members of the University of Miami soccer team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced.
Julia Edwards, Emilie McCartney, Dieynaba “JJ” Ndaw, Tori Grambo, and Kyla Gallagher were the five Hurricanes who earned the prestigious recognition for their accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom, with each student-athlete producing a GPA of at least 3.50.
Edwards has been a critical part of the Miami soccer program since 2020, and the fifth-year senior appeared in 16 games this season for the Canes. Edwards recorded two assists throughout the 2024 campaign.
McCartney was an essential piece for the Canes as a defender, appearing in and starting all 17 matches for Miami, while playing the maximum possible 1,530 minutes over the course of the season.
