CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami soccer player Claireese Foley garnered another impressive accolade after a sensational week for the Hurricanes, as she was recognized as a member of Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week, the organization announced.
The accolade is the second of the week for Foley, who was also named ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for her stellar play.
Foley had two dominant performances in the net for Miami last week. The redshirt-freshman from Prosper, Texas commenced the week by recording a career-high seven saves to earn a clean sheet against Virginia Tech, helping the Canes secure a 0-0 draw against the Hokies. The shutout marked just the second time all season that Virginia Tech was held scoreless in a match.
Foley followed her outstanding performance against the Hokies with another tremendous outing on Sunday against FAU. She compiled three saves, while earning her second consecutive clean sheet, helping to lead Miami to a 1-0 victory over the Owls.
Foley and the rest of the Miami soccer team will resume ACC play this Saturday, as they are slated to travel to South Carolina to face Clemson on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
