Canes Fall to Boston College, 3-0
BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Miami soccer team (5-7-4) fell on the road to Boston College (11-5-2) Sunday afternoon by a final score of 3-0.
The Hurricanes came out strong, dominating possession and controlling the match for the first 12 minutes.
In the 13th minute, Miami found themselves on the attack once again; however, they lost possession, and Boston College went on a counterattack. The Eagles managed to score to take a 1-0 lead and shift the momentum in their favor.
The two teams went back and forth over the remainder of the first half, as Miami entered halftime trailing 1-0.
The Hurricanes came out with high intensity to start the second half, attempting to find an equalizer and even the contest.
After a handful of chances for Miami, Boston College found themselves on another counterattack after the Canes lost possession, and the Eagles converted once again, taking a 2-0 lead in the 70th minute.
Three minutes later, the Eagles added to their lead, scoring a third goal to extend their lead further, and Miami went on to fall 3-0.
The Canes outshot Boston College, 16-10, and Miami had five shots on goal to BC’s four.
The Canes will return to the field this Thursday, as they are set to host Florida State in their regular season finale at 6 p.m.
