S&D: Hurricanes Finish in 13th Place at NCAA Championships

Pellacani’s national title highlighted Miami’s best finish since 2011

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Miami Hurricanes wrapped up their run at the 2025 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, finishing in 13th place nationally with 75.5 points.

Miami’s finish, highlighted by an NCAA title on the 1-meter springboard from Chiara Pellacani, was its highest since 2011 and featured the most swimming points scored since 2012.

The Hurricanes – represented by Pellacani and Mia Vallée in diving along with swimmers Giulia Carvalho, Simone Moll and Ashlyn Massey – finished in the NCAA top 20 for the 13th time in program history.

In addition, Miami scored points at the NCAA Championships for the 15th straight season.

Carvalho capped her run at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center in the 100-yard freestyle, where she posted a time of 48.14.

In their first ever trips to the NCAA Championships, Moll went 2:13.90 in the 200-yard breaststroke and Massey added a finish of 1:55.84 in the 200-yard butterfly.

Men’s diver Max Flory will cap Miami’s postseason at the 2024 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center next week.
