Veteran diver wins platform title, Moll qualifies for ‘A’ final in 100-yard breaststroke

GREENSBORO, N.C. – A gold medal victory from veteran diver Max Flory highlighted another impressive showing from the Hurricanes on the fourth day of competition at the 2025 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.

One of four individuals from the University of Miami to qualify for the night’s finals Thursday, Flory made the top eight in the men’s platform, while swimmers Simoné Moll, Emma Sundstrand and Ashlyn Massey were among the day’s top performers in the lanes.

Flory, who was seeded first, posted a score of 450.75 in the finals to secure his second medal of the tournament.

Moll’s time of 59.88 in the 100-yard breaststroke (‘A’ final), Sundstrand’s time of 1:01.61 in the 100-yard breaststroke (‘C’ final) and Massey’s time of 1:56.57 in the 200-yard butterfly (‘B’ final) were strong enough in the morning’s preliminaries to punch their tickets for a return swim at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Flory was the top finisher in the preliminary round on the 10-meter, posting a score of 417.65.

Moll was eighth in the final round (59.79), Massey finished sixth in her heat (1:56.86) while Sundstrand was eighth in her final (1:02.46).
