BOCA RATON, Fla. – In their quest to win the American Athletic Conference regular season title, the Florida Atlantic softball team won game two of the three-game series against Tulsa on Saturday afternoon with an 8-2 victory.
Led by five runs in their final two innings, the Owls move to 40-13 on the season and 20-6 in conference play.
In the pitching circle, Gabby Sacco made her 21st start of the season and recorded the win, moving to 12-3 on the year. Ainsley Lambert entered in relief for three shutout innings to record her eighth save of the season. The two combined to give up just three hits.
THE GAME
While Tulsa struck first with a home run in the in top half of the opening inning, the Owls responded right back with a three-run bomb of their own from Kamryn Jackson, her eighth of season, also bringing in Presley Leebrick and Jesiana Mora to take an early 3-1 lead.

Entering the bottom of fifth inning with a slight 3-2 advantage, a four-pitch walk for Cammeo Presutti in the first at-bat was the start of six straight Owls to reach base. Jackson singled up the middle to bring in Presutti, which was immediately followed by a two-run single from Trinity Schlotterbeck to score Mora and Leebrick. Jackson would find her way home for the fourth run of the inning off a sacrifice fly by pinch hitter Becca Jones.
One more run was in store for Florida Atlantic in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a sacrifice fly from Mora to bring in Kylie Hammonds.

STATS & NOTES
- Jackson led the way with three hits in four at bats, one home run, and four RBI. She ranks second on the team with 8 HR
- In addition to Jackson, Leebrick and Mora recorded two runs each
- Presutti reached base in each plate appearance, with two walks and one hit
- Lambert has a team-high 32 pitching appearances
- The Owls now have 310 runs on the season, ranked 20th in the nation
UP NEXT
The Owls will close out senior weekend and the regular season on Sunday, May 5 with the final game against Tulsa with first pitch set for Noon. Following the game, FAU’s 11 seniors will be honored for their contributions to the program.
