TAMPA, March 8, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team will welcome five teams as they host the USF Tournament starting Thursday, March 9 through Sunday, March 12.
USF welcomes Penn State, Illinois, Marist, FGCU, and Saint Francis (Pa.). The Bulls will play everyone except FGCU.
LAST WEEK
The Bulls went 4-1 in the Bulls Invitational and added two more wins last night in the double header against Pennsylvania. The only loss was against NIU on Sunday. USF had walk off hits against USC-Upstate and in both games against Penn.

Penn State (10-3)

Series vs. Penn State: USF leads, 17-7
Notable Information:
- Lexie Black s batting a .400 with 16 hits, six doubles, one triple, and three home runs. She also has 13 RBI.
- Bailey Parshall leads the team with 57 strikeouts this season. She has a 1.09 ERA.
Illinois (12-6)
Date: Friday, March 10 | 2 p.m. & Saturday, March 11 | 4 p.m.

Series vs. Illinois: USF leads, 8-4
Notable Information:
- In 50.2 innings pitched, Sydney Sickles has struck out 56 batters and has a 1.93 ERA.
- Avery Steiner leads the team with 20 hits in 59 at bats.
Marist (7-9)
Date: Saturday, March 11 | 7 p.m.

Series vs. Marist: USF leads, 2-0
Notable Information:
- Haley Ahr has a .400 batting average, with 20 hits, six doubles, and one home run. She has 16 RBI and seven runs.
- Calista Phippen has been Marist’s ace this season, striking out 40 batters in 42.0 innings pitched.
St. Francis (6-10)
Date: Sunday, March 12 | 3:30 p.m.

Series vs. St. Francis: This is the first meeting between the two teams.
Notable Information:
- Grace Vesco has a 2.33 ERA in 54 innings. She has retired 68 batters and only allowed 29 hits.
- Rachel Marsden leads the team with seven RBI on the season. She also leads with two home runs.
