CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Florida Atlantic softball team (32-9, 12-3 AAC) took the series from the Charlotte 49ers on Sunday afternoon with a 5-3 victory.
With the win, the Owls improve their record to 32-9 and 12-3 in the American Athletic Conference. Florida Atlantic is now 10-3 on the road and the Owls remain in first place in the AAC standings.
THE GAME
Outfielder Presley Leebrick hit a two-run home run for the Owls to take the lead in the third inning. Charlotte answered back in the third and fifth innings to tie the game.
Sophomore Jesiana Mora hit a two-RBI single to put the Owls back on top in the sixth inning. Trinity Schlotterbeck hit a sacrifice fly to score Kamryn Jackson and extend the lead for Florida Atlantic.
Gabby Sacco started in the circle for Florida Atlantic for the second day in a row. In the fourth inning, Ainsley Lambert went in relief for Sacco. Lambert improves her overall record to 7-2 on the season. The Owls held Charlotte to three runs.

STATS & NOTES
- Presley went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs on the day. She also hit her second home run of the season
- Mora went 1-for-3 with two RBI. She now leads the Owls in conference play with a .404 batting average
- The Owls continue to lead the conference in on-base percentage (.435)
- Lambert improves her record to 7-2
- Jackson and Mora are tied with 37 RBI each
- Florida Atlantic also leads the conference in scoring, fielding percentage, total stolen bases, stolen bases per game, and WL percentage.
- Lambert is first in the conference and ranked No. 4 in the nation in saves (6)
- Mora is ranked second in the conference in toughest to strikeout
NEXT UP
The Florida Atlantic softball team will remain on the road. They will travel to Denton, Texas, to take on North Texas on Friday, Apr. 12, for game one of the three-game series.
